I know everyone remembers Meagan Flaherty from the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team 1 and 2. What a lot of people do not know, is what it is like to go through the process of making the team, when your best friend doesn't. I'm going to give you a little insight on what that is like.

Meg and I met in training camp my rookie year. At that point, we decided to move in with Brooke. The night Meagan didn't make the team was totally unbearable. She came home to Brooke and me, and swore that she would never try out again. We were all so devastated. But without fail, the next day she was the cheerful, bright, Meagan we all loved. You'd never know that just the night before she had been cut.

Our relationship has grown from there. I remember walking through the mall one day with Meagan, Brooke and Kalli (another great friend from Season 1.) We noticed a group of young girls following us around. Finally one got the nerve to come up to us and told Meagan "You are my favorite, can I have your autograph?" The look on her face was priceless! Even though she hadn't made the team, she now had a HUGE fan base.

I just want to say I have never met anyone like Meagan. She is the kindest person I've ever known. No matter what it is, or what time it is, even if we have just been in a fight, she will be there for me. I will admit she does have, let's say "Blonde Moments," but who doesn't? And quite frankly, that's why I love her.

When Meagan told me she was going to give it another try, I thought for sure she would make it. She had been taking dance classes and working on her speaking abilities. I really thought this was going to be her year. Unfortunately, I was wrong. The night she got called into the office, Brooke and I both went home thinking there was no way they were going to cut her, it'll just be a warning. When she came home in tears, my heart dropped. She was talking about moving home, and how bad it hurt. No words could comfort her sorrow. I didn't know what I was going to do if my "Best Friend" moved away. Of course we would still talk, but it just wouldn't be the same.

But sure enough, maybe not the very next day, but a few days later, that bright, cheerful, Meagan was back. I couldn't believe after all that she had gone through, after her dreams were shattered, not only once, but twice, that she could come back and be stronger than ever.

Right now Meagan is enjoying her second year as a Dallas Stars Ice Girl, and was just nominated by her team mates as the Dance Captain for this year's squad. Go MEGGIE!!!

Through thick 'n thin, through blood, sweat and tears, I know I'll always have my Best Friend.
